UK Redundancy Tracker

Written to our editorial standard by RGF Lawyers; solicitor review pendingSRA No. 8004856Last edited: 23 August 2026

What is this?

A dated log of publicly announced UK redundancy and restructuring programmes: 40 announcements across 13 sectors, from banking and retail to the NHS, universities and local government. Every row cites a named publisher, a real URL and a date; where a source did not give a precise number we record its own wording rather than estimate one.

We built this because most of the value in this space is not search traffic (very few people search "UK job cuts" in a given month). It is being the first place with a sourced page when a large employer makes an announcement, being a citable reference for journalists covering redundancies, and showing HR and insolvency practitioners the breadth of situations we already cover. Where an employer here has its own page, the table links to it.

Methodology

Inclusion bar: a publicly announced UK redundancy, restructuring or job-cut programme reported in 2025 or 2026 by a named publication, the employer's own statement, or a Regulatory News Service (RNS) announcement, with a real, checkable URL and date. We do not include rumours, unconfirmed reports, or figures we cannot trace to a named source.

How we record scale: where a source gives one clear number we record it; where a source gives a range, an estimate qualified as "up to" or "around", or no number at all, we record its own wording rather than invent a single figure. We never average or interpolate between two employer announcements: an employer with more than one dated announcement (for example GSK, Lloyds Banking Group and Nissan below) gets a separate row for each one.

How often this is updated: reviewed weekly against company RNS announcements, trade press (Personnel Today, Insurance Times, Retail Gazette and similar), council and NHS board papers, and university and union sources, following a fixed internal checklist. A row is promoted to its own full employer page at /redundancy/at/ once it clears our promotion bar (workforce size, consumer familiarity, recency, and search demand for the employer's name alongside "redundancy").

Reporting a correction: if you believe a row is wrong or out of date, email [email protected] with the employer name and a link to a current source. We take the row down while we check it, rather than leave a disputed figure live. The figures on this page are correct to our knowledge as at 23 August 2026; read how our figures are checked.

Insolvency practitioners and administrators

If you are running a collective redundancy, restructuring or insolvency process and need to arrange independent settlement agreement advice for a group of employees, see how we support that at scale. This is a general service description, not an offer relating to any employer named on this page: we are not connected to, and this tracker does not imply we are involved with, any employer's redundancy programme listed above.

Not connected to any employer listed above. Employer names identify the publicly reported situation only; this page does not suggest any employer has acted unlawfully. If your own employer is not listed, see our employer redundancy pages or start with the general redundancy guide.
