The University of Nottingham has been reported to be planning one of the largest restructuring programmes in the UK higher education sector, aimed at closing a growing funding gap.

The University of Nottingham was reported on 27 April 2026 to be planning to cut up to 600 jobs to save £50m in staffing costs by 2029-30, beginning with a voluntary redundancy scheme opening in May 2026 as part of its "Future Nottingham" restructuring.

What you are entitled to regardless of what the University of Nottingham offers
